- Tampa Electric’s Polk Power Station is an integrated coal gasification combined cycle (IGCC) power plant that has been in operation for 8 years.
- Great Plains Synfuels is a coal gasification plant that produces synthetic natural gas. CO2 is also captured and transported 200 miles via pipeline for use in sequestration testing. Practical experience has been gained in its 20 years of operation. The plant operates on lignite.
- Development facilities that NETL is involved in: Wilsonville, Alabama (Southern Company); LaPorte, Texas (Air Products and Chemicals); and Morgantown, West Virginia.
